Weaving a Wider Community: Sustaining the Movement for Racial Equity
A Midwest Racial Equity Conference designed for local communities working toward sustainable change.
November 13 or 14, 2026; 8:30 am to 12 pm
Each year our conference attracts around communities focused on engaging in conversations around how to build racial equity in their own community.
To participate, communities of at least three people must find a location where they can gather and watch the online conference together, preferably with the conference projected on a screen, and host a conversation around action steps they can take to build racial equity in their own community. To facilitate this, FREC provides a toolkit and assistance with building cross-cultural collaborations.

Conference Presenter: Victoria McWane-Creek, Organization 4 Full Participation
Victoria McWane Creek is a storyteller, social architect, performance improvement specialist, word crafter, organizational effectiveness expert, spoken word artist, and curriculum developer whose work is rooted in lineage, liberation, and community care. She activates from a foundation shaped by her family and by practices of rest, presence, and connection. Her creative and structural work builds environments that support belonging and collective flourishing. Victoria leads two interconnected entities that extend her artistic and design practice into systems and community life. Through Organization 4 Full Participation, she aligns people, policies, and strategies to advance access and enable results that are predictable and do not vary. Through Onyx Collective, she cultivates cultural connection and well-being for Black rural Minnesotans. Her artistry and leadership work together to transform potential into inspired action and expand what becomes possible for community.
Conference Presenter: Amanda Florence Garcia Goodenough, Goodenough Consulting
Amanda Florence Garcia Goodenough (she/her) is a dedicated educator operating from a cultural humility framework to center and elevate historically marginalized voices, promote belongingness and mattering, disrupt structural inequities, and advance intersectional social and racial justice. A practitioner leaning on 20 years of professional experience in justice, equity, decolonization, and interconnectedness (JEDI) efforts and decades of critically examined lived experience as a Black and Mexican multiracial woman of the global majority, Amanda engages in systems-change work and strives to speak truth to power as an act of love and liberation.
