What is the RELI Learning Series?

Six online learning sessions, Two-hours (January-May)

Join us for facilitator-led discussions and curriculum developed and inspired by the Smithsonian African American Museum of History and Culture program materials Talking About Race as well as the Minnesota Historical Society.

CEUs and LICENSURE CREDIT:

Teachers may receive 2 CEUs per session.
Administrators may receive 4 CEUs after participating in two sessions.

The 2023 RELI Learning Series aims to increase understanding about racial equity and empower participants to work for change within themselves, and to lead in their own organizations and communities. We provide a forum to unlearn and relearn from each other and translate new knowledge into action.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The series is designed to help educators and other related folks who connect with child and youth development. Those who work in sectors beyond education can also benefit. Everyone is welcome.

SESSION DETAILS:

Participants prepare with videos and/or written material from the Smithsonian African American Museum of History and Culture as well as the Minnesota History Society.
– All sessions are from 4-6 pm Central time.
– A community leader shares their insights on the topic and launches the discussion groups.
– Discussions are led by trained facilitators to digest materials, process their implications, and generate action plans.
-The last two sessions are practicums to develop skills in being antiracist.
– Additional resources are generated by producers and participants.
– Participants are provided curriculum components to use for free with their own students, colleagues, and communities.
