Thank you for registering for the Overcoming Racism Conference: Awakening, Woke, Taking Command to be held Friday and Saturday, November 3-4 at Metropolitan State University, 700 E. 7th St. in Saint Paul 55106.

Parking will be FREE during the conference in the ramp on Maria Ave. Disability parking for conference attendees is located inside the ramp. Passengers can be dropped off in front of Founders Hall using the U-shaped drive off Maria Ave.

Transit We encourage use of Metro Transit for transportation to and from the conference.

Registration Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. on Friday and 8:30 a.m. on Saturday in the Founders Hall Reception area.  Coffee, tea and light refreshments will be available in the reception area each morning. Plenary sessions will be held in the Founders Hall Auditorium.

Help Us Be GREEN If you use a personal coffee and/or water container, please bring them for hot and cold drinks at the conference. 

Opening Ceremony The conference begins with Dakota drumming and singing in the Founders Hall Auditorium at 8:00 on Friday and 9:00 on Saturday. The conference opening on Friday will also include sage blessing in the Auditorium.
 
Conference Schedule You can review the overall conference schedule and see the preliminary afternoon workshop schedule.

Name tag You will receive a name tag at the registration table.  Your name tag will be your “ticket” to conference events. 

Accessibility If you are in need of accommodation for disability related or other reasons, please check at the registration table.

Lunch A bag lunch will be provided each day for registered attendees. No pork will be served.

Taping   There will be photography and videography taking place throughout the conference.  Selected pictures and videos will be published on the Overcoming Racism website.

Fragrance-free and smoke-free environment Please respect others’ health by being fragrance-free.  Smoking areas are off-campus only. 
 
Internet Courtesy of Metropolitan State University, an open wireless network is available to all. Choose the "Metro_Guest" network, no password needed. Open a browser to accept the terms and conditions.
 
CEUs Social work CEUs and educator Certificates of Attendance will be available at the registration table.

Reflection Room A dedicated private space is available for prayer or meditation - Room 217 in the Student Center.

Restrooms There are men's and women's restrooms in all of the campus buildings. Single stall, gender-neutral restrooms are available on the 2nd floor of the New Main and St. John's Hall buildings, 1st floor of the Science Education Center, and both floors of the Student Center

Lactation Room There is a private, lockable room available in Founders Hall 1st floor - check out the key at the Security Desk.

Evaluations Your feedback is crucial for planning future conferences! Please remember to fill out and return evaluation forms in each workshop as well as for the overall conference.
